Neola Nondiscrimination Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026 · Version 1.0
Neola is built on a simple standard: people are chosen for what they can do and how they show up, never for who they are.
1. The law we follow. Neola operates under the British Columbia Human Rights Code and applicable federal law. Discrimination on the basis of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, marital or family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or age is prohibited on Neola, for every member, in every direction.
2. What this means for families. Families choose their caregiver, and the choice is theirs. The basis of the choice is the person: their verification, their references, their experience, their fit with the child and the moment. Neola does not offer tools to filter or exclude caregivers by protected characteristics, and requests that Neola do so will be declined.
3. What this means for caregivers. Caregivers choose which bookings to accept, and the choice is theirs. Declining a booking through the platform's tools is never penalized. A caregiver may not refuse families on the basis of protected characteristics.
4. Screening is individual. Every caregiver is assessed individually: identity, background check, references, and human review. Every family is identity-verified. Access to the platform as a caregiver is at Neola's discretion, exercised through that process. No screening decision is based on a protected characteristic.
5. Accommodation. If you need an accommodation to use Neola, contact support@goneola.com and a person will work with you.
6. Reporting and response. Discrimination or harassment can be reported in the app or to support@goneola.com. A person reviews every report. Where this policy is breached, Neola may restrict, suspend, or remove accounts, and records its reasons. Nothing in this policy limits any person's rights under the Human Rights Code.
